Collection Notes: Overnight fasting is preferred. Patient should avoid eating fruits or taking Vitamin C supplements 24-hours prior to collection. Samples must be protected from light at all times by using foil or an amber tube. Must transport frozen on dry Ice to avoid cancelation.
Clinical Utility: This blood test is used to evaluate Vitamin C levels and can determine if there is a vitamin C deficiency.
