Collection Notes: Patient should be fasting for 8 – 12 hours prior to sample collection. Patient may have water. Protect specimen from light. Freeze and ship frozen.Samples must be collected in an additive-free, red-top tube. Centrifuge as soon as possible after collection and transfer serum into an amber vial or wrap a clear, plastic screw-topped vial in foil. Sample must be protected from light. Specimens not protected from light will be rejected.
Clinical Utility: The concentration of coenzyme Q10 (Co Q10) is used to monitor oxidative stress levels.
